Waiakea water company was created in 2012 by Ryan Emmons who was looking for a way to share the pristine water he discovered while in Hawaii with the rest of the world. The water is unique in that it is sourced from water that is filtered during its path down a volcano, and the company is even more unique because it is offering its water in sustainable bottles that are biodegradable. Waiakea Water has received an amazing amount of awards during its existence, and it has also appeared in a spread of movies and Television shows. Some of the shows it has appeared on include Conan, Roadies, Fifty Shades Darker, Silicon Valley, Dance Camp, Architectural Digest, Superstore, and Transparent. Waiakea was named one of the Inc. 5000 Top Food & Beverage companies in 2017 and was also named Most Socially Responsible Company in North America Gold during the Best in Biz Awards 2015. Dujour named it Most Elite Bottled Water on the Market and 10 Best Water named it #2 of the 10 Top Water Labels of 2017.
Waiakea has always been focused on the environment, and to do more it began to use a high-grade 100% recycled polyethylene terephtalate bottle. When compared to regular plastic bottles, their bottle uses %90 less water to make it, %85 less energy, and reduces more than %90 of the carbon emissions. Their water bottles are BPA free, and the company is working to make them 100% recyclable along their entire journey.
