Gregory James Aziz began his career by attending the HEC of Montréal business school. Here, he would gain a bachelor’s degree in production management which he would use for the rest of his career in order to achieve amazing profits for the companies he worked with.

Greg Aziz’s first real job in production management was managing the Pontiac production line for General Motors. He chose this job specifically to learn the ropes of production management. General Motors, especially the Pontiac division, was known as good training grounds for one who wants to one day be a CEO. After working here for 14 years he felt he learned everything he had to learn. It was time to move on.

He received an offer from the aerospace manufacturer Pratt & Whitney to come and work as their COO. After working in this capacity for just six years he would become the company’s next president and lead them to aerospace dominance. After working there for seven years, he would be approached by National Steel Car with an offer to become the chairman and CEO. It was here that he really shined.

Greg Aziz would pull out all the stops to make that company successful. Firstly, he made the company more environmentally friendly in order to be able to compete underneath the new green laws that both Canada and the United States were passing. To do this, he had to decrease carbon emissions and water consumption. Gregory James Aziz did so well in this endeavor that he was given an award by the Canadian Minister of the environment.

Secondly, he would acquire key businesses that would help expand the portfolio of merchandise that National Steel Car offered. Two of the foundation acquisitions were his former company Pratt & Whitney and Otis. These allowed National Steel Car to transport military goods as well as heating and refrigeration goods for the private sector. See This Article to learn more.

These good decisions would not only bring National Steel Car over its first 100 years of business but would set them up to dominate for the next 100 as well.
